It’s no surprise that as you get older, the skin on your face begins to show signs of aging. This includes wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. Even if you take the best care of your skin, things like the sun and genetics can work against you. Facelifts are expensive and invasive, but facial rejuvenation is a noninvasive way to knock years off of your appearance.

At Snoring & Sleep Apnea Center, our team uses facial rejuvenation not only to help you look younger, but also to treat conditions like TMJ and snoring. Dr. Katharine Christian is our dental sleep medicine expert, and she’s a master in nonsurgical facial rejuvenation procedures.

Remarkable Technology

The term “facial rejuvenation” encompasses several different techniques to help you get rid of certain signs of aging on your face. Dr. Christian uses a state-of-the-art laser — the TimeWalkerⓇ Fotona 4D® — to treat a variety of issues. It can be used for cosmetic purposes or for medical conditions, including:

  • Sagging skin
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction
  • Snoring

While the laser can tighten your skin for cosmetic purposes, it’s also effective when you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Christian uses the laser technology to reduce snoring by making the tissues in your throat tighter.

The treatments are quick, and you can go back to your normal activities immediately after your procedure.

How Facial Rejuvenation Works

The goal of facial rejuvenation is to stimulate collagen production, which in turn helps to give you a tighter, more youthful appearance. The Er:YAG and Nd:YAG laser system uses gentle heat to achieve the younger-looking skin you’ve been hoping for. But how exactly is the laser able to do that?

Your skin contains collagen, a protein that provides structure and tightness. However, as you age, your body produces less collagen, which results in sagging skin and wrinkles.

The laser technology we use promotes increased collagen production through heat. It also helps shorten and thicken the collagen fibers already in your skin, which also helps give your skin a firmer appearance.

The TimeWalker Fotona 4D has four different modes that Dr. Christian can use for different areas of your face. These modes can perform treatments such as:

  • Nonsurgical facelifts
  • Lip plumping
  • Skin tightening
  • Skin rejuvenation

The laser treatments treat both the exterior of your face and the insides of your cheeks, tightening and adding volume through and through. With increased collagen production and thicker collagen fibers prompted by facial rejuvenation, your skin can return to its youthful glow.

Benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Treatments

Before this technology was available, painful and time-consuming plastic surgery was necessary for you to achieve the younger look you were hoping for. Facelift surgery is not only invasive, but it comes with a wide array of risks as well and weeks of recovery.

The major benefit of our facial rejuvenation treatments is that they’re noninvasive and are performed right in the convenience of our office. This means no surgical aftercare and much less risk than traditional cosmetic surgery. You also don’t have to incur the expense of a surgical procedure.

Whether you’re seeking facial rejuvenation treatments to help you look younger or you’re hoping for relief from a condition like TMJ, our team can help. Call our office today at (206) 770-0260, or request an appointment using our online booking tool.
